How to Remove Saved Passwords from a Browser

One must be careful while keeping sharing your personal information on the internet. People knowing or unknowingly share too much of their personal information online. Take social media accounts for example, if you have set your account on privacy every other person around the world can see your posts and know about you.

Digital advancements have opened a new door for people, now they can connect with their family and friends with a single click. Like every beautiful rose has thorns, these advancements also have some drawbacks. Sharing too much of you’re personal info can put you in danger. What if your devices or hacked or stolen? Do you realise how easy it is for others to get into your personal life and hack all your data?

One such thing that most do in their regular life and not realise the effect of it is, saving their passwords in the browser. Many save their social media accounts passwords, other log-in details including their bank accounts in their devices. They may save it to automatically log-in into their account or they may regularly visit that particular website, so to save the pain they may keep it logged in or save their passwords. But there are some serious after-effects of it. When a hacker hacks into your computer you’re personally giving him access into you’re personal information or bank details. You can access your official office related documents on your device and save the passwords for logins. When hacked both your personal and professional information is in danger of being misused by those hackers. 

For security concerns, it is better to not save your passwords in your browser. If you already have you can just delete them from your browser. Here are step-to-step instructions to delete your password on your browser.

Chrome

Step1: Once you open browser in your desktop or laptop. Click on the settings or three dots on the top-right of the page.

Step2: A menu will open, click on the settings option third from bottom in the menu.

Step3: Once the settings option opens, you would see passwords in Auto-fill menu, click on it. 

Step4: As you click on that option you will all your saved passwords if you click on the three dots present on the left side of saved passwords, if you click on that, it will show you export passwords option.

Step5: Click on that option to export your passwords, once you’re done you can click on the three dots beside the password, you have two options there. You can check details of that particular password and you can remove it.

Step6: Once you click on remove, your passwords will automatically be removed. You can also check your passwords and manage them using the Google password manager. If your google account is synced that particular password will get deleted on all your devices saving you from the trouble of deleting it from all your devices.

Internet Explorer

Step1: Click on the internet explorer option in your device, once the browser is open.

Step2: Click on your three dots or menu option present at the top-right of the browser.

Step3: A menu opens and then click on settings option at the bottom of the menu.

Step4: Click on the View advanced settings option in the menu.

Step5: Once the menu opens click on the manage password in auto-fill settings.

Step6: Here you can find all your saved passwords and delete the passwords that you want to remove.

Step7: You can turn off the save passwords option to avoid saving your passwords in future.

Firefox

Step1: Click on the Menu option present at the top-right of your page.

Step2: Click on preferences in the menu.

Step3: Click on the password manager in the security menu.

Step4: Click on saved passwords and select the ones you want to remove.

Step5: If you want to remove all your passwords, select all the passwords and click remove. 

Safari Mobile

If you want to delete all the saved passwords in your browser from your iPhone you can simply follow the steps below to delete all the saved passwords in your browser.

Step1: In your iPhone home screen open the Settings app.

Step2: Once you open the menu click on safari option, present at the bottom in the fourth group. 

Step3: You can click on autofill and passwords option to change your password preferences.

Step4: You can view the saved passwords, once you click on the options.

Step5: You can edit them by clicking on edit option present at the top-right corner of your mobile.

Step6: Once you select all the passwords you want to delete, click on the delete button.

Step7: After all the passwords are removed, clear the cookies and data on your phone to ensure your phone security.

Safari 

Step1: Open the browser and click on the menu.

Step2: Select the preference option in the menu.

Step3: Then switch to the Autofill tab.

Step4: Click on the edit option to edit your usernames and passwords.

Step5: Select and delete the passwords that you want to remove them. Select all the passwords and click on delete option to remove all the passwords.

All your sensitive confidential information can be easily viewed by those who have your device or hack into it. 

Which is not the risk worth taking. So be sure to remove all your passwords even if accidentally save them.
