Living in Thailand, Visiting, Business Bangkok, or Just Passing Through; Find a Comfortable Hotel

I don’t know about your flights into Bangkok but mine always arrive at near midnight. After 24 hours or more of travel to reach wonderful Thailand we can be a bit knackered. Bangkok has no shortage of entertainment, culinary or accommodation options from which to choose.

If you arrive exhausted off your circadian rhythm you may want to get into one of the hotels near Bangkok airport. Over 50 million people travel through Suvarnabhumi airport each year. Do your research. There is too much information online with photos, reviews, pricing and booking.

When you land and you’re of your schedule but awake and energized to be in the real city that never sleeps, I can recommend a different area to stay. Got to the bottom floor of the airport and find the taxi cue. You will enter your destination into an automated system and receive a ticket for your assigned taxi and price for the trip. Select Kao San Road as your destination. This area is full of fun nightlife, eating, drinking, street food, shopping, and live music. It is not far from other districts for the next day’s adventures.

Foreign embassies are scattered across Bangkok Central Business District east of the Chao Praya River. Sukhumvit road is lined with skyscraper options for meeting space, accommodations, rooftop bars and restaurants that will blow your mind. Maybe your business meeting ends early and you need a place to unwind. Bangkok has hardly a soi without a quality massage shop at your feet. The nightlife is legendary for a reason. Do not be late to your speech the nest day.

The capital of Thailand before Bangkok was Thonburi. It is on the west side of the Chao Praya River. The rich history of Siam. Ayutthaya is an older capital city still and is relocated for ease of new construction. The Royal Palace in on the east side of the river next to Wat Po. This Royal temple houses the largest reclining Buddha in Thailand. Dress appropriately.

Getting around Bangkok is easy with the BTS Bangkok transportation System that has a new hub at every major city district and connects to outlying areas. A taxi is a good option if you are not in a hurry and want air conditioning. The motorbike taxi is the quickest, most efficient and most exhilarating form of transportation in the city.

I hope you planned packing space for shopping. The MBK Center, Central World, Platinum Fashion, and Siam Discovery are malls in the metropolitan area that feature voluminous space filled with fashion and food.

I tend to stay away from the malls and look to the markets for better shopping and entertainment. Local food, clothing and gods pour out of the Chatuchak Weekend Market. The Or Tor Kor, Bangkok Farmers and Mahadthai Night Market can fill days of shopping each.

Whether you headed out of country to visit family or returning to our lovely tropical haven, find a good night’s sleep or a good nights party in Bangkok.
